Manage Received Messages
Messenger gives you the ability to manage your received messages from one location.
DoctorAccess marks unread messages with a
symbol and marks urgent messages with an additional
symbol. show the patient's name in green text to indicate the sender is a patient. If there is a (+) sign next to the name, there is more than one recipient in the message. If a patient is a recipient in a message, their name always appears first.
To view a new message:
- From the Messager tab, click <Folders and select the Inbox, Sent, or Urgent folder.
All messages in that folder display.
Note: Green text indicates the sender is a patient. Black text indicates the sender is a faculty member, provider, or administrator.
- Select a message to display the message contents.
- (Optional) If you are using the mobile site, select the Show Details button to view the Cc or Bcc recipients.
- From the Messager tab, click <Folders, select the Inbox, Sent or Urgent folder, and select a message.
Note: Names with a (+) sign indicate there is more than one recipient.
- Above the message content, select the Forward (
) button.
- In the To field, enter recipient(s). For more information about adding recipients, see Compose Messages
- (Optional) If necessary, change or add to the Subject field.
- Enter your message above the Original Message section and click Send.
Note: If the message is to a patient, you can include only one patient recipient per message.
- From the Messager tab, click <Folders, select the Inbox, Sent or Urgent folder, and select a message.
- Above the message contents, click the Reply (
) or Reply All (
) button.
- In the Message field, enter your message above the Original Message section.
- (Optional) If the message is urgent, select the High Priority
button. - Click Send.
You can move messages to custom folders created in Messenger.
To move messages to a custom folder:
- From the Messager tab, click <Folders, select the Inbox, Sent or Urgent folder, and select a message.
- Select the check box(es) next to the message(s) that you want to move and click Move.
- From the Move Messages pop-up, select a custom folder you wish to move the selected message(s) into.
- Click Move.
The message moves to the selected custom folder.
You can delete messages when they are no longer necessary.
To delete a message:
- From the Messages tab, select a check box next to a message you want to delete and click Delete.
- Click Yes to delete the message.
A confirmation pop-up appears.
